The Nielsen 117 frame, also known as the Arthaus profile, was inspired by the Bauhaus movement of the 1900s. Our natural collection features subtle finishes in shades of gray. Warning: Frame size equals the size of the frame’s components, for example, the glass, mat board, and backer board. We automatically cut the inside of our frames 1/8 inch larger to allow for size tolerances, components that are not truly square, and to prevent binding and warping with temperature changes.
The Nielsen Profile 117A metal picture frame is available in three finishes with a brushed look, Brushed Aluminum Satin, Brushed Satin Nickel, and Brushed Satin Pewter. For other colors see our Nielsen Profile 117 and 117V which are the same profile in different colors. The frame has a rabbet of 13/16" and is 7/16" wide, with a height of 1-5/16". Frame Destination frames are cut approximately 1/8" larger to ensure that all frame components, including mat board, glazing, and backing, will fit properly within the finished frame. Metal frames without contents may be shipped unassembled. Let us know if you have an assembly preference.
